Yesterday for the rehearsal dinner we had a BBQ at the villa. So I decided to got for a jeans and top combo as I didn’t want to be too overdressed. At the same time I didn’t want to be so casual that it looked like I hadn’t made an effort.The food was amazing and I really want to bring the chef home with me when I leave.

Today Is the actual wedding so I’m resting up now so I can dance the night away later. Hope you’re all having a good weekend xx

Today we took a quick trip into Cabo and I had plans to take pictures whilst out and about. But it didn’t work out that way so I ended up taking some quick pictures of my ensemble for the day when we got back to the villa.

I love, love, love the print on this top and shorts set. I normally avoid boxy tops as I’m top heavy, but the versatility of this top made it an easy rule to break. I wish I had packed my tan wide belt as I could have made it look like a play-suit. I feel that when I’m back in Dubai as the weather heats up, this is going to become a weekend favourite.

I feel like there should be a voice over with this post, starting with this is day one in the big brother house :-) . This is the veranda just outside my bedroom in the villa, and it has officially become my spot. I have spent the day vegging on the seats here catching up on my magazines.

I know you probably thinking I’m crazy to be wearing leather shorts. But they are not leather, they are pleather and they are amazing. I love the fit of them and as they let just enough air circulate to keep me cool. The t-shirt is 100% linen, as i’ve slowly moved away from cotton t-shirts/tanks to linen ones. They crease more easily, but they just keep you cooler for longer.

I’m just heading for lunch now, after which I will carry on chillin like a villain. Hope you’re all having a great weekend xx

As you can tell I was really excited to be going to the Chanel Little Black Jacket Exhibition. Each photograph showed how versatile a little black jacket is, everyone featured wore it in a way that felt authentic to their personal style. My friend and I really struggled to pick our four favourite photo’s, there were so many that stood out for us. It actually made me purchase the book, and as someone who is a recovering jacketaholic, it’s good I bought the book. Or I may have found myself with one too many jackets again ;-) .

Have any of you been or have you got book? What did you think of it?

ps… I have straight hair now and I don’t get to hide behind my hair anymore. I didn’t realise how much of a security blanket the curly hair had become. So bear with me as I get used to my new look.

 The top I got from Zara in Milan at the beginning of the year, and for some strange reason it never made it to Dubai. The skirt I picked up from Zara during a holiday in Barcelona a few years ago. As I don’t really wear short skirts a lot for the evening, as I gravitate towards dresses, this skirt ended up in the don’t wear pile.

This season black lace was all over the catwalk, so I paired the top with the skirt to create my own Valentino look. I added the Zebra print belt as its the only black print belt that I own. Plus as the heels have a bow at the back, it stops the look from being to girly. What do you think, did it work? Now to come up with two more outfits with this skirt.

The weather has been terrible in Dubai this weekend, to the extent that it actually rained. I actually kind of liked it as it meant I had to have a lazy weekend. Something about leaving somewehere hot means you feel obligated to always do something.

As I was going through my laptop I found some outfit posts that for some reason I had forgotten to put on the blog. Guess that’s the problem with always rushing around…sometimes things get missed. Anyway hope you’re having a good weekend too :-)

This top has a very boxy shape, so I added the belt to give myself some definition at the waist and I kept everything else quite fitted. As I don’t own a lot of black I’m kind of limited in the way’s I can wear this top. So I now need to come up with two more ways to wear this top with things that already exist in my wardrobe.

I’m thinking to treat it like a jacket to see if it helps me get over the styling block
